what do i need to look for to get a nice one? i want it mostly to take pics of sports and friends, so nothing too out there and i want to stay under $200. any help would be appreciated!

I have a Panasonic (Lumix) DMC FX9 and it is great! I am not sure about the price, but I think it should be under $200..not sure, but great camera!

Kodak is a real good digital camera. I have purchased 3 of them in the past 6 years. Each time I go for a better one. The one I have now is a Easyshare P850. I bought it at my local Walmart store. It was $300 and worth every penny. You can find others for less than $200. The main thing is to stay away from digital zoom. Only use optical zoom. All digital zoom does is enlarge the pixels and make the picture blurry. Check out your local Walmart, Kmart etc.

I have a Sony digital. But now I feel I should have gone for a camera made by a camera company like Cannon, NIkon, Olympus etc. Sony and Samsung are not camera companies and I feel we should compare different models before deciding to buy.

Take a look at the Casio Exilim line of cameras. Easy to use, takes great photos, and even high-quality videos. Radio Shack offers a few models.
