No. What improves your chances of getting a girlfriend is:

1) Be confident. Women respond to confidence even more than men do -- that's why arrogant jerks can always get women.

2) Hygiene. Women care about grooming issues that most men rarely think about. Showering and shaving are no-brainers, but it also matters how you keep your nails (no sharp edges, hoss).

3) Dress. Yeah, I know it's shallow, but it's a fact of life. Women care about how you dress. It's not just a fashion thing, though. Women judge potential mates based on status, which makes sense when your choice of mate is also a choice of lifestyle. High status men tend to dress better.

4) Don't be so f***ing desperate. If you're that wound up about getting a gf, it will show in how you behave toward women (see point #1). If you don't respect yourself, women won't respect you, either. But if you think that being with you would be an honor for any woman, then some women will start to think so, too. Again, that's why arrogant jerks can always get women. I don't recommend becoming an arrogant jerk, but if you can project that level of confidence without being an ***, finding a woman won't be your problem. Your problem will be choosing one.

You have to ask yourself, why do you want a girlfriend? It's understandable to want to feel desired by someone, to be cared about and appreciated.....
But you will scare people away if you appear too needy. People will pick up on the fact that you need a girlfriend to boost your low self-esteem.
DESPARATION IS UNATTRACTIVE, and it keeps people away.
If you are interesting in meeting someone because you want to share their company and, and share feelings, slow up and take inventory......
Bookstores are great places to watch and meet people. Look around and see what people are interested in, and use it as an icebreaker. If you get someone talking about what they are into, you can chat over coffee in the cafe.
When you build friendships based on mutual interests, sometimes they grow into more.....
Be patient. Let things happen rather than forcing them. and don't rely on "God" or anyone else to make it happen. This is all on you.....
Focus on yout redeeming qualities. Share them with others. You are interesting, thoughtful, intelligent, articulate, generous, non-judgmental, patient, kind, empathetic, engaging, and genuine. Don't try to be any other way. People will notice....

Pray isn't going to help you. What you need to do is go out and look for one. It isn't like a girl is just going to come up to your door and say "hey want a girlfriend?" aint gonna happen. Gotta put some work into the dating world

Not exactly, god answers our prayers in the way that he sees fitting to the situation. If he thinks you should be single right now for any reason, than that is how he is going to answer your prayer, it doesn't always happen the way we want it too.
