ABOUT every 6 months. There are dogs who come in every 4 months, and there are those that come in every 8 months. The "rule" is twice yearly, unless it is a Basenji, then it is once yearly.

I think that dogs go into heat about Twice a year or maybe even three. Once I heard it may depend on the type of dog that you have and how old the actually is.

Normally every 6 months...some dogs go every 5 months...some only once a yr.
Heats usually last 3 weeks...week one is bleeding...10 days after she starts to bleed, the discharge will turn clear (or a little blood tented) and she will be ready to mate. She will be fertile for (give or take) a week...then she will still smell (to the boys) in heat for another few days, but will not be willing to mate.

Usually twice a year and 6 months apart- although some dogs can go once a year and some dogs can go 3 times a year or more.

Most breeds come into heat every 6 months, but with some breeds it could be 9 months or even once a year.

I don't think dogs go into heat, but i think they have a season that they like to mate, (such as spring), but i could be wrong.
sorry!
