I like this guy and it seems that he likes me too. However, he's really shy so he's not very open about his feelings so this is kind of a big step that he's subtly showing that he likes me. unfortunately whenever a guy i like initially shows interest in me i tend to tense up and become distant when i'm with him (i.e. not walk close to him, avoid physical contact etc.) i sense this happening with this guy and i really don't want to push him away or make him think that i don't like him because i really like him and would like to pursue a relationship with him. we're already good friends which makes it even worse because i get embarrassed that i like him. what should i do?

If you like him, and he likes you, you need to be receptive to his subtle advances. There's nothing to get all tense about, so relax! Try to encourage him by showing him you like him too. Asking him out will probably be a good move too. Whatever you do, you will have to try to act like you are comfortable with him or he will probably get the wrong idea. As long as he can tell you're trying, it should be OK because he will see that you like him but are just a little shy. But if you just ball up when he approaches you, he will wonder if he's doing something wrong. Good luck!

Since you're already good friends, talk to him about it. You should be able to talk about anything, and that includes your feelings. But, especially since he's shy, try to put him at ease, and assure him that no matter what, you will always be friends.
And there should be nothing embarrassing about liking someone. Liking someone is a good thing. Go for it! My impression is that shy guys tend to be good guys, and he obviously appreciates you as a friend.

best bet if u truly like him make the first move. When both of u are socially awkward someone has to break thru or else the odds of u being together will be slim to none. Slide your fingers thru his hair and down his neck and if he smiles he likes it, then when he is looking in your eyes tell him how u truly feel about him, he might just do the same!

Ask him if he wants to get together for a movie or something. Engage him in conversation that leads up to being a bit personal. Let him know how you feel and find out if he feels the same way. After that nature will take its course.

Just be brave to show to him thru words or some personal touch. He should receive the signals well.
Guys need to be explicitly told/shown else they wouldn't know what you think about him.
Guys are totally opposite of Girls. Be it thinking or action. Just reverse what you think, thats Guy.

Well, there is nothing to be embaressed about, it sounds like he really wants to be with you and he is happy to be in your company. You deserve to have a good & decent guy in your life, so stop thinking about what you dont deserve and think about your good qualities, because that is what he is attracted to. So, relax and just be friends instead of analyzing so much. He probably likes you too.

take him look him in the eye and say i like you, breath, let him breath and then kisshim. if he kisses you back he likes you too if he doesen't he sees that you are brave and the kind of girl who goes for waht she wants

you should consider why you pull away from people you like .then resist doing it .you sound like your in protect mode when he shows closness .do you not believe you deserve to be close and happy with him
