I'm using an HP Pavillion (from the ze range though) now - it's definatly one of the better makes out there. It's got a solid construction, doesn't flex at all and the keys have got good travel on them and the keyboard itself isn't placed too far foward. The screen is brilliant too - great colours and bright. Battery life is excellant (close to 3 hours) and everything feels solid (Ports, CD draw, screen etc...). Yesterday I marked the silver finish petty badly and a damp cloth wouldn't work so I used car polish and everything seems great. Definatly built to last! Although I don't think you can go wrong with either HP, Compaq or IBM (Lenovo).
