how do i approach this guy i have liked for a long time even though i never see him?

i have liked this guy for a long time and we have always been friends and so have our friends but i haven't seen him in a while and my best friends boyfriend is one of his best friends i just want to talk to him and see him because i haven't seen him in awhile and i miss him.
