I'm 22, but I would say the youngest age group I would be willing to initiate a date is girls between 20 and 24 years of age. Do you have a different opinion? What is the maximum and minimum age limit if you're 22 in your opinion? (18 is too young, so is 19, and 25 is not really my age group anyway)

Let's see... When I was 18, I preferred people about my own age, then for a few years I wasn't seeing anyone, then there was a sudden 'bump': when I was 22, I generally went for people 30ish give or take a couple of years, because I was a pretty serious-minded person.

Nowadays, I don't look at age, but at maturity, 'having everything' spiritually and psychologically (so the person isn't 'trying to accomplish anything' by being with me). And of course the same applies in reverse, particularly if the person is very young, I ask myself all the really tough questions to make sure I'm not 'trying to accomplish anything' either).

In my adult life, I have indeed loved people 8, 13 or even 20 years younger than I am (42), but regardless of the person's age, I'd keep it platonic until we were able to really put each other first (even above Mom and Dad), and take the responsibility of making a permanent commitment.

All that having been said, the person I currently 'take most seriously' is about 10 years older than I am, so I guess I've come full circle...

It depends on the maturity of the person. But keep this in mind. You are 22, your friends are going to go to the bars and clubs, and you will want your girlfriend/date to be able to go too. Might want to make the minimum 21. The max age is really a hard thing to answer. If you are in school, it is hard to date someone that is not. So i would guess that 25 is a pretty good number.

I date a 29 year old, for a short time when I was 19. She was a fantastic girl, but we just didn't have the same thought process in mind all the time. By the way, the sex was great, but other than that, we were just headed different directions. Find someone close to where you are in life, rather than a specific age.

I'm right on par with you, with some slight modification.

18 and 19 are definitely too young for my taste. By the same token, however, even though I'm only 22 myself, it would take an exception girl under 22 to keep my attention. A 20-year-old is still looking forward to her 21st Birthday (obviously, in America, so she can legally drink)...which means putting up with plenty of the "partying scene" in most cases. I don't mind having a good time, but at that age it seems to be too much of a priority, and that's a bit annoying.

At 21, some are still stuck in that mentality, trying to use their new age to it's fullest extent. Once again, the scene gets old, especially for someone who's already experienced as much of it as they could tolerate.

So while I find it acceptable for a 22 year old to date a 20 year old, I personally choose to avoid it.

On the other end, 24 is close enough to maintain some similarities. At 25+, you're starting to push it, and may be struggling to find common ground.

I don't think it matters as long as the girl is at least 18. People shouldn't really go by age, but obviously, I wouldn't recommend going out and dating a woman in her 70's.

I'm 20, my boyfriend is 25. I know if I were 22, I would date as young as 18 and as old as 35. But that's because age is relative and I don't see it as a deciding factor if I like someone.

When I was 22 I didn't have a maximum age group. My minimum was of course 18 though. The oldest woman I dated that year was 32. She was a personal trainer working in Newport Beach.

It all depends on your maturity level and what you're looking for in a date/relationship. Age is becoming increasingly irrelevant in today's society and it is not uncommon for people to date others that are ten or more years different in age. At age 22, I think you're probably still a little sensitive to the age issue, but you will notice that as you get older, you won't see it the same. Good luck.

For you I'd say 18 to about 25. Be flexible with the maximum age, tho.
