a single flower, don't buy a dozen, don't buy six... a single rose is essential... no more no less... no chocolates, please, waht ever you do, never give a first date chocolates... If you give her more than the single rose, some girls will feel you are trying to buy them... leave the teddy for the 3rd date

It's the first date, do not give her a rose. Everyone does that. Give a single flower. You don't want to come on too strong. I hope it works out well and have fun.

Assurance that you will be a gentlemen and show her a real good time that doesn't require something in it for you after everything is all said and done. To me that is the best gift you can give on a first date.

If you go to the movies, you must make sure she doesn't have to carry anythign in with her (like stupid balloons or a bouquet...) cause that is just awkward. Try something small, and not TOO personal, cause you don't want to seem pushy. Something easy and sweet without being weird? A hairclip. Find a nice, inexpensive-but-pretty hair clip for her. She can wear it in her hair, and will probably be touched at your attention to her beauty.

Or a simple dog tag with the engraved wording 'Our 1st date '-write the date.
Or just a call her back that nite when you get home to tell thanks and that you're looking forward to the next one.Only if you like the girl alot.

well depending upon ur ages....does she like wine? sparkiling cider is an inexpensive, yet festive way to celebrate and does not offend the non drinkers.
but honestly a first date is not a good time to bear gifts. wait to date number 2 to do that and on date number 1, pay attention so u can get an idea of what she likes.

Well you do not have to give a first date anything just pay. If you feel you have to my brother always would give a yellow rose represents friendship later when relationship was well into it a single red rose represents love. Pink and white love at first site.

NOTHING!!! Its the first date!! You should just get to know her and let her get to know you!! So that if she likes you, you'll know she likes you for you!! Not cuz you buy her things!! But i guess if you really wanna give her something, just give her like one flower or something!! Nothing too big!!
