History does not, in fact, repeat itself. But sometimes it rhymes.

Personally, reding history is important. Even though it does repeat itself, we can prevent things like Hitler or The Great Depression or even discrimination, by knowing about these past things. History is important to the generations to come so that they know what happened and what life was like. It may not make sense but its true.
I hope this helps you solve your mystery.

People read history so hopefully they could learn from the past mistakes. If people don't, the same mistake happens again and again. It is not history per se that repeats along with the dead people of the past.

History is doomed to repeat itself only if we don't learn from it. That's why we read about it. If we educate ourselves we are less likely to make the same mistakes twice.

In my opinion, it is cuz we are ignorant and do not learn from past mistakes. In order to avoid a repeat in history, we would have to work better at it. History isn't important to me but the present and the future is. They do say they teach us to avoid what had happened in the past but eh.

TO MAKE OURSELVES TO BE READ IN IT ONE DAY.
I have a simple question: Why do we go to work when we know this is what is going to happen today?

You've taken the phrase out of proportion. It means something happened, again. or even will.
