You will actually find very few pictures of the horrors of war in American electronic media, no matter where the fighting is. American media is driven by a mix of popularity and censorship. No one wants to see bloodied humans, particularly at the dinner hour. Hence, not popular and thus not on the electronic media.

Censorship is a different factor that's hard to gauge from the outside. It applies, but the money factor is more important as a limiter, imo.

American media has always kept such images from the public. The claim is it's a matter of taste, but the reality is that it's the nature of democracy that the only way to control the process is to control the perceptions. In large part the ownership class benefits from militarism and pictures of children missing body parts would overcome the sloganeering and dimestore patriotism that supports militarism.

What the first guy said. If Americans actually see what their tax dollars are funding it might erode support for Isreal and Isreali security is the most important priority for our government.

Its all propaganda....By controlling the flow of these images to the general public...the government is trying to control emotions and lower opposition to the war. Thats why they show lot of images of suicide bombings in Israel...to get sympathy and support for action....

What's the point? Everyone knows war is hell. If you wanna show some bombed Israeli cities along with those, in a balanced news sort of way, then no problem.
