My favorite is the story of Job. Because it tries to address the classic question about why a loving God allows bad things to happen to good people. It also involves God making a wager with Satan(!) over this poor guy's life, which I use to make the case that the bible is not to be taken literally.

Luke Chapter 1 when the angel visited Mary and told the virgin that she would have a child. And she received the blessing although she was a young girl and this would mean a lot of confusion around her. People misunderstand or disbelieve to this day! Then she went to see her older cousin Elizabeth who was also pregnant and the baby John in her (Elizabeth's) womb leaped for joy because he was in the presence of our unborn Savior. Awesome!!

The whole Bible tells of Jesus coming, his life, his death and his Resurrection, his Ascension and his soon return. Even all the other stories were pointing to Christ or describing him or his characteristics.
The whole thing. But I guess that part where he died for me was my favorite along with the part where he is coming back for me.

The life of Jesus. Because God came down from all His glory to live inside of dark womb. Then He was born in a stinky manger and lived a sinless life so that He could die for His people. What greater love is there? I am so happy that we have a God who is so loving.

Mathew, the weeds and the wheat. It explains how the devil is responsible for evil and not god. How our job is to just work as hard as we can to be the wheat that is harvested and put in the barn and that when the lord decides, not us, harvest will come and that is when the bad people will be bundled up and burned.

Not the bible story...a story by Tolstoy, I believe. About this rich man who prayed to Jesus to come home visiting him. Well, he made a swell dinner and waited all night; beggars came to his door-he chased them away. Homeless came to his home; he closed the door in their face. Finally, in the morning he went to the church and asked in an angry voice, 'Why did you cheat me? Why didn't you come?' To which God replied with infinite calm, " Son, I came to your doorstep seven times yesterday. All seven times you didn't recognise me.."

2 Kings 2:23-25, where Elisha summons two bears to shred a bunch of boys for insulting his baldness.
It leaves me with a tear of inspiration everytime I read it to know that if I can find his magic wand, I can call upon YHWH to destroy my enemies as well.
