On file menu choose page setup. Mark gridlines from the sheet tab and then select the print area. That's it!

You could try applying borders. That would give you a solid grid, and if you fill them white, you'll get an empty cell which "technically" has content.
To apply borders:
1. Highlight your cells
2. Click Format (in the main menu)
3. Click Cells
4. Click the Borders tab
5. Choose your border style, then hit OK
For the white background, before hitting OK, click the Patterns tab, and choose the white colour. Then hit OK.
Hope that's what you were after

to print the gridlines you have to put a period or something in the very last rectangle in the right side of the page. make sure that it is the last one.

just highlight the whole page -- then right click - format cells - border, then pick the border and inside lines (and thickness needed) then print :) Ta-Da! An empty grid!
