Because people want to deny the truth. They figure as long as they don't accept any religions, there is no God, they can do what they please, answer to no one and get off scott-free. The entire group of them are in for a rude awakening, come judgement day.

Because it gives you a certain amount of anonimity and these people gain a kind of sick confidence in being an alter-ego.
They wouldn't dare to confront someone with these kind of views, so this is their way out.

It's the price we pay for freedom of speech. Just ignore them; they'll either go away or get shut down. And at least they're not banging on your door, trying to convert you.
