My husband are driving up to NY for a Yankee/Boston game in September...is there a way to avoid driving in NYC - Can we take the subway? Can someone give me specific alternatives to driving in ourselves? Where to park, etc...

Thanks!!

We are actually leaving from Bayonne, NJ the next morning on a cruise, so I wanted come back to NJ for the night, but our plans are not concrete yet. I'm just trying to figure out what the most hassle free way of getting in and out of the city would be! tHanks

First of all - where you going to stay?? Then i can answer the question or if you coming stright from Boston.... then the answer will be different. ... the answer is ... TAKE THE 4 Trains.. park your car near east 80s street and take the train to yankees stadium...

You don't drive through NYC to get there, just around the edge of it via the highways, which get congested but there's parking at the Stadium. You can take the 4 and D to the Stadium (check http://mta.nyc.ny.us for up-to-date routes) -- it's a short safe ride, mainly because the train will be full of people going and leaving the game with you.

if youre staying in new jersey, why don't you take nj transit (i.e. bus or path train) to port authority and take the subway from there.

(cross town shuttle to the 4, 4 to 161st)

easy enough. no driving into manhattan/bronx at all.

You can definitely take the subway, that's not a problem....you can park basically anywhere in the city....where are you staying?? Wherever you're staying, just keep your car there and take the subway..the subway system is HUGE.
