There is no other option, if it hurts to brush try not brushing so hard and use a soft toothbrush. If your gums are infected that can also make it hurt to brush, best to see a dentist.

If you are hurting when you brush you may have (thats saying you have no cavities) very sensitive teeth.Do you feel a sensation when eating or drinking something very cold or hot?If so that's another symptom of tooth sensitivity.
Try using toothpaste called 'Sensidine'. It may help. Also make sure to use a soft bristle tooth brush.
If it continues or if you start bleeding when you brush then I'd go see the dentist.

Then you should try using a softer brush and also theirs a new toothpaste called synsodyne (not sure of the spelling) that helps your teeth gradually become not so sensitive and are easier on your teeth

Brush Your Hair or Your Teeth ?

k.. i am assuming you mean your teeth? You could get stranded on an island and if you flossed your teeth at least twice a day (keeping your gums stimulated) your teeth would be fine..Brushing simply removes the buildup on the surface.. what makes your teeth fall out is gum disease so just floss and use mouth wash and you should be ok..

If it hurts to brush talk to your dentist to find out why. You could have some serious dental issues.

Change to a toothbrush with softer bristles? Better visit your dentist soon...meanwhile, even if you can't brush your teeth, do use mouthwash.
