I completely agree with you. Everytime I try it I hope it will be better than the last time I tried it, but nope, I only have it because it`s all my mum has at her house.
I think there is something wrong with the bitter part of my taste buds. Thats what I think anyway.

It used to be OK when the coffee shop scene in the UK, though small, was basically French or Italian, but now that it's completely Americanised (never mind the bogus Italian-type names) most of what's on offer is huge paper buckets of brown dishwater. The basic beans are fine, it's the making which has gone haywire. Make it yourself at home.

Well, hopefully they aren't storing it too near the tea.
It could be the water it's made from, or the amount of coffee they use in it.
The BEST coffee is Jamaican Blue Mountain. Average price $10.00 / lb. They do have it at Starbucks, Gloria Jeans, and other fine coffee shops.

Good coffee bars are few and far between. Oddly enough, best one where I live is owned and run by... a Frenchman.
In the meantime, I'd suggest you go to a coffee specialist (eg: Whittards of Chelsea, branches nationwide, or a similar local shop) get your own beans and have them ground to spec.
Failing that, buy Taylors of Harrogate who are usually pretty good.
Never, ever drink anything served to you out of a work coffee machine. It's doesn't qualify as "coffee", "java", "joe" or even "jamoke". Even "carbon remover" is pushing it.

Where did you get it from? Where are you from? I guess I can't give an opinion as I've never been to the UK, but do they sell the Folger's dark Colombian blends there, the ones in the reddish plastic canisters? I bought that kind the other day and it was decent. I'm in the US.

Well, that explains it if you're from France. The best coffee I've ever had was in France. I'm from the US and have travelled quite a bit in Europe, but the coffee I had in France was the absolute best!

Because coffee is so horrible to begin with, the smell, the taste, just everything about it. Stick to tea.

Go to a specialty store and ask for Kona. Not the blend, straight Kona. You will be buying beans so get a grinder and make it yourself. This is the smoothest and most aromatic coffee in the world.

I'm having a hard time finding a decent cup of coffee in the U.S., much less a good one.
