Yes, But before doing Vipassana, I would recommend more active kind of meditations to clear the ground for Vipassana.
It is called Dynamic meditation, created by Osho Rajneesh. You can get an audio cassette, or audio cd of music assisting in the dynamic meditation.

Yes I have, a few years ago. It provided me with an introduction to self knowledge. I began to peel the illusions away and to see reality for what it is. I am still in that process, we never completely 'see' clearly but I no longer sit. I have found meditative states in every day activities right now. I LOVE walking meditation.
