My friends and I have a question. We would like to ride in the back of a Uhaul, but I don't know if it is illegal or not. We'd like to put a sofa or something in the back.

Back when I was a kid my uncles would rent one. We'd put a sofa and chairs in the back, drive around and party.
I'm sure it was illegal, but it was also when seatbelts weren't mandatory.
