Why would you relate eye-sight to race?

The fact that most Chinese you meet wear glasses does not mean all Chinese (including those you meet and those you don't) have bad eye-sight. It just shows that Chinese you meet are so confident that they are not afraid to show people their glasses.

You think those who don't wear glasses have good eye-sight? Have you ever heard of contact lens?

Chinese people may not have the best eye-sight but surely they can tell the difference between "there" and "their".

You must have been listening to Prince Phillip' nutty, racist comment about "slitty eyes"
http://www.student.city.ac.uk/~rc391/jubbly/faces/faces_tc_1.html

More seriously, here's an interesting discussion about somebody's anecdotal observation that more Chinese girls seem to wear glasses than other races at a particular university:
http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=56561
Here's the pertinent quotation:
"We don't really know why these differences exist," said Karla Zadnik, the lead author of the multi-center study and an associate professor of optometry at Ohio State University. "It's probably like most of our modern conditions and diseases a mix a nature and nurture and factors that interact together.

"In this study, 18.5 percent of the Asian children were nearsighted that's more than four times the number of nearsighted white children; three times the number of farsighted African American children; and one-and-a-half times the number of nearsighted Hispanic children."

So, while your question is naìve -- since physical eye structure has nothing to do with vision (and, hey, a Hungarian puli or a sheepdog sees just fine) -- more Chinese children seem to need glasses than other races evidently because of the genetically-determined shape of their eyeballs.

Yes.

Some chinese and other asian people, though, are looking to get 'double upper eyelids' like the western ones. That is, the ones with the fold in the middle.

Obviously some feel that it is more attractive to have the western style eyes. Interesting that they would have surgery to change something like that.

I find some asian girls pretty hot, double or single eyelidded!!!

Some can, some can't. Their eyes may be 'small'...but their brains made up for everything. Do you know that the Chinese were the first people to invent toilet bowls and jeans?

Maybe they can and maybe they can't, but they can see well enough to read that "there" there and know that an ignoramus is writing.
