Just to clarify, you cannot join the military being a convicted felon, there is no waiver you can get. You will never own a firearm legally. I'm sorry, but thats just the way it is.

That's a big negative brother! Depending on what you did... but felonies are a big NO to get in these days. You may have gotten in 20 years ago but standards are higher now with a smaller force and just as many folks trying to get in. They can afford to be more picky.

Of course, the branch of service does have something to do with it. Some are more lax than others and if they do let you in... it won't be anything high-speed!

it depends on which branch you wanna join. the marines will not take you. they are VERY strict when it comes to recruitin. the national guard on the other hand are kinda lax with their recruitin. if you have a good recruiter they'll bend over backwards to get you in. talk to a couple diff ppl and be completely honest with everythin you've done. and don't be surprised if they laugh at you cause it could turn out that this is no big deal
