Is the end of the world coming soon? I know the Bible states no one knows the time or place and Jesus will come like a thief in the night and all that, but is the current state of the world pointing towards the apacalypse?

The current rash of global conflicts, environmental problems, rampant disease, and a host of other maladies DOES NOT point to the end times. The only reason why End Times theology has become so popular in recent years is because many modern preachers no longer have the creativity to preach the Gospel in a way that is palatable to the masses. As a result, they resort to resurrecting an antiquated interpretive framework that seeks to read the Bible as a crystal ball, as opposed to holy work that is meant to illuminate spiritual truths. By making Christian theology comport more with story telling of Hollywood horror films you make the Gospel have entertainment value, thus attracting masses of people who otherwise have no taste for traditional religion. Unfortunately, at the price of the increasing popularity of evangelical Christianity, they sacrifice the central message of the Gospel, and commit a host of theological errors that actually does more to lead people astray.

Truth be told, even a person who has little theological and historical knowledge can dissect the so called predicative prophecies in the Bible and can tell that they were not intended to apply for our times, but were in fact a commentary by prophets and biblical writers concerning the times in which they lived. Like modern fortunetellers they take vague and symbolic biblical passages and distort them in such a way that they can apply to almost anything.

It’s sad the most popular form of Christian evangelization is also the one that deviates the furthest from sound theology.

since New testament times, Jesus says that the endtimes is near. That was more than 2,000 years ago. On this premise critics of Jesus says He has told a lie but certainly he hasn't.
Apostle Peter says in his epistle knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.'' For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which now exist are kept in store by the same word, reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up." 2Peter 3:3-10

Read Matthew 24 and there will be your answer. The statement most indicative of His return is that the world will be as it was in the time of Noah. At this time there were only Noah and his family that walked with God. 8 people. So you can imagine there will be very few at the time of Christs return. As well it should be understood that the human error that caused God to destroy mankind at that time was the pagan practice of passing their children through the fires of pagan Gods. This consisted of placing live infants into the molten hot arms of idols and allowing them to be consumed. Jesus had alot to say about children during His teachings and what would happen to those who caused them to sin...as it is also at every other turning point in Bible history there had been a mass slaughtering of children. Both the Hebrew male babies into the river at the time of the birth of Moses and also the Slaughtering of all children under the age of two at the time of Jesus birth. Some believe that the tsunami of the Indonesian islands was a warning of the wrath God feels toward a nation that trades its own children as sex slaves...the largest population of sex trading goes on there even now. Even directly after the flooding waves hit, before any sort of infrastructure could be established young children were being taken for this very purpose. To be sold and prostituted. The world has been on its way since Christ died on the cross but the snow ball effect is ever escalating..so we are in the birth pangs stage, I believe. Keep your eye on Israel. Love in Christ, ~J~ <>,

Tribulation (War's, Evil and Wickedness, Bad Time's) will be the Worst ever in the History of the EARTH.
But the EARTH will abide for-ever, it is NOT the end of the World (EARTH and all of it's People's).

It is the End of the World.
WORLD-----the Evil and Wicked Invisible Spiritual System set up by the Evil and Wicked Fallen Spiritual Angel's kicked-out of Heaven, led by Satan.

First Thing JESUS is agonna do when the Contract with Mankind is up, is LOCK-UP all of these Out-Law, Renegade, Evil and Wicked, Dog Spirit's---------Then there will be 1000 Year's of PEACE on the EARTH.

If you want to worry (which you don't have to if you have been Born-Again), think about Leaving the EARTH for GOOD, no matter when (now or during the Tribulation), WITH-OUT getting your SPIRIT RECREATED. You cannot stay in HEAVEN with-out getting your SPIRIT RECREATED. JESUS is the ONLY ONE WHO can Recreate you (a Spirit, living in a Body). Adam messed his up, and passed it down to everybody else, that's why you have to get SAVED. Hope this helps.

Bibically, the tribulation will start within the generation of Israel becoming a nation again, which happened in 1948, and a biblical generation is 70 years, which gives us until 2018 for the tribulation to start, which will last for 7 years, or 3 1/2 years if God cuts it short. Could be any time at all now, no one really knows for sure, but things are definately starting to come together.

Technically, an Apocalypse in the terminology of early Jewish and Christian literature, is a revelation of hidden things given by God to a chosen prophet. There have been more than one Apocalypse written. The Apocalypse to John deals with the end times (also called the Book of Revelation). But Apocalypse itself does not mean the same thing as end of the world: its just means a revelation.

I think most of the tv evangelists who are predicting the end times (and getting lots of donations at the same time) are good indicators of the truth here: if they really believed what they preached, wouldn't they be selling their many possessions now and giving to the poor the money they now solicit from them?

I will give you a scripture that shows we are indeed just how the bible says the people will be in the "last days" 2 Timothy chapter 3:1-5 It says " But mark this; There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God_ having a form of Godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
I know that there has always been a level of these characteristics in people but you start looking at what has surfaced in the past 10-15 years things like road rage and this huge agenda to diminish Christianity and God out of not only the USA but every nation. The newer religions have high moral standards (having a form of Godliness) but they deny him or at least his power. Hedonism is at an all time high with an "if it feels good do it" kind of attitude. Just to name a few I am sure that some of you can think of examples too.

Funny you should ask... In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus is allegedly quote as aynig "THIS", meaning the current GENERATION would NOT pass away until ALL these things were fullfilled! So, how many of those folks are still alive after some 2,00years? Paul beilieve the end times would come then. I suggest you read Samuel Beckett's play "WAITING for GODOT". Good luck and peace to you.

Yes, I believe so. But by the time the 'Apacalypse' comes, all Christians will be taking to heaven by Jesus. All non-christians stay on earth for the 'Apacalypse'. If they survive (Impossible) they will be judged and sent to H311.

You have some very good questions - the Apocalypse is discussed in Revelations - I've just finished going to a lecture on this topic - it explains things like the mark of the beast. Unfortunately the lecture is still being prepared for Window's media player - as soon as it is ready I will have it on my site for viewing.

Please keep searching for the Truth - my site is listed below - please check back for the update of the Lecture - it can be viewed even by dial up:
