Yes, because it may not swell right away and if you put the ice on it now and wrap it, it may keep the swelling down a lot and help it before it get's worse. I hope it feels better soon. Good luck , Hun.

Sprains are a sudden or violent twist or wrench of a joint beyond its normal range that results in a stretching or tearing of the joint's ligaments. Sprains are a common injury, and the most frequently sprained part of the body is the ankle.
If you hurt a joint, what to do depends on the stage of the injury. The RICE acronym can help you remember how to immediately treat an injury. Rest the injured area, ice it for 20 minutes for the first 24 hours (remove for at least 20 to 40 minutes in between), lightly compress it with a bandage, and elevate over the level of the heart.
Follow-up with a doctor should be considered if:
A. Gross swelling or deformity develops.
B. You are unable to bear weight on the injured part.
C. Severe pain or discomfort is present.

You don't need to ice it unless it swells because ice is to minimize swelling. You can use it if it helps with the pain though. No more than 20minutes.
Please wrap it. The wrap should be snug, but not cutting off circulation. If your toes become cold, blue, or tingle, re-wrap.
FYI I twisted my ankle very badly once and it took months for the pain to go away.

Depends on how long ago you twisted it. I once broke my wrist and it did not swell until almost 12 hours after the fall.
To be safe you might want to ice it and wrap it up.

There may be no visible inflammation though ice will tend to reduce what there is and perhaps help to ease the pain. Certainly you should support it but if it is not swollen, paracetamol (tylenol) should be enough.
