The Catholic church or any other church does not insist that God hates Gay people. The Bible does not endorse this practise and says it is wrong. Religion is a choice that one can make, there is no point in trying to stay in a religion that does not endorse your life style and preaches against it. That is why I find these whole controversies quite meaningless. Like the one in USA within the Episcopal Church where gay men wanted to remain in the priesthood and practise homosexuality. Leave the church and find another spiritual path, that makes you feel more comfortable. Religion is all about being in harmony with oneself.

The ten Commandments are a small part of the teachings given to us by God.
The Catholic Church DOES NOT HATE anyone--homosexual behavior is a sin and a gross deviancy of the gift of sexuality which was given by God to married people in order to procreate. It is the closest thing to heaven that we have on Earth after the Holy Spirit and the Eucharist!

Since when are the 10 Commandments the only laws that humans are to abide by?
And no theologically-sound catholic church will insist that God hates gay people... he hates the sin, loves the sinner.

God does not hate people, only the wrong choices and actions that cause us grief and pain. Ever heard the saying, "Hate the sin, love the sinner?" The 10 Commandments are a wonderful guide, but there is much more to do. It doesn't say anything about child molestation, but I'm pretty sure thats wrong too. Bottom line: We are all God's children and he doesn't hate a one of us, only the sin we commit.

I always get a bit worried when an old man in a dress and a funny hat spouts forth what God thinks is right or wrong. How should HE know? Has he just been to dinner with the Lord? And were there any women present at the time? All looks a bit iffy to me.... And what about those strange looking gentlemen "guarding" the Vatican...?
I rest my case

The Catholic Church does not insist that it hates gay people. The pro-gay propagandists want you to believe that the Catholic Church hates gay people.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.
Nothing in the Ten Commandments? What about the Commandment: Thou Shall Not Commit Adultry. This Commandment promotes chastity, a virtue that is violated by homosexual activity, among other things. So yes, it is indeed covered in the Ten Commandments.

The Bible says, and sorry I do not have the verses, that all men that lay with men shall be destroyed. Which most people use as their reason not to like gays. However, all of these Catholic priests and their indiscretions seemed to be with boys AND the Catholic church didn't kick them out, it moved them to another place to give them a completely new group of boys to molest.

There is more parts to the Bible then the 10 Commandments. God does not hate people of any kind. God hates sin, but God Loves the sinners otherwise He would not have sent Jesus to die for us. And yes I know some people don't like to hear it but Jesus died for the gay people as while as the rest of us.

God doesnt hate gay people. He just doesnt like the practice of homosexuality. He will still love a gay person. He says in the Bible that the only unforgivable sin is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. He still welcome all. Jesus walked and lived with the lepers, prostitutes and tax collectors just some of the most detestable people of His day. It isnt in the 10 Commandments but he did destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because they practiced sodomy.

Misconception here!!!!!
The Catholic Church teaches that the act of homosexual sex is a sin, NOT homosexuality itself. God loves God's creation, no matter what.
The bottom line with almost any Roman Catholic teaching on sexuality boils down to the "purpose" and "place" of sex. Sexual intercouse, according to the church, is reserved for a married couple and is to be left open to procreated. By this line of reasoning, homosexual sex is a sin because it is neither open to procreation nor is it within the bonds of marriage.
The US Catholic Bishops put out a wonderful teaching document on homosexuality entitled "Always Our Children." No hate to be found here!
