maybe the cd has scratches. or the cd may not be in the correct format. most old players only recognise .wav format. use only gennuine cds or else try using a cd lens cleaner. philips lens cleaner is the best.

it could be 2 of these things : 1.the CD is damaged
2.it's mp3 tracks
that the player couldn't read .. i recommend u to buy a player that reads mp3 tracks.
