I asked a question last night about religious experiences and got responses from all different beliefs. I thought all of them were great. I think Love is the power of the universe. Love is the highest law. My love manifests itself in Jesus but I now see that maybe there are other ways too. I am asking today when you see someone who is different from you ( maybe even annoying) please see them as human and maybe do something nice or at least smile. then do something nice for you- you deserve it too. Peace.

I agree with georgiegirl. I have to say may saviour is Jesus Christ but I am not a bible thumper (whatever that is). I feel his love which makes me want to love others reguardless of who they are. To me that is what he was about. I read what he said ' Let those who are without sin, cast the first stone." That is what I have to say to the ones who put down people who are different than them. We are all on a journey, you don't know where you will be next year. This is where I am today. Peace.

One of God's commandments' Love thy neighbor as thy self.". How does that translate into " your going to hell?" Sorry- maybe my journey isn't done yet but I am not wise enough to know who is going and who isn't. I am wise enough to have love in my heart. If that makes me wrong then I don't want to be right.peace.

A smile costs nothing but is such a wonderful gift to give. Love through Jesus is not condemning or threatening, it is merciful. If every Christian throughout the world would let the joy of the Lord shine through their life and the love of the Lord shine out then we would be able to say as Jesus: Who lights a light and hides it under something so no one can see?

A humanist Christian is a novel thought....i think next you would be calling your self an atheist Christian? Humanists have been respecting human beings for a protracted time already...possibly you're gaining wisdom of a few thing from them. Humanism is the thought we are in a position to stay sturdy lives with out non secular or superstitious ideals. Humanists make experience of the international utilising reason, journey and shared human values. We seek for to make the perfect of the only life we've with the aid of turning out to be meaning and objective for ourselves. We take accountability for our strikes and paintings with others for the easy sturdy. How do you reconcile the plain chasm between your adoration of a supernatural entity and respecting human beings who can in basic terms be seen a lowly turds with the aid of assessment to this fictitious paragon of impossible perfection.

If there wass enough love in the world there would have been no wars,Itotally agree with you,you shouldn't hate someone just 'cause he is of a different belief.Treat him as a human being.
And as to that ,you reminded me of an incident that happened to Muhammad(pbuh)that i would like to share with you=At the time when Muhammad(pbuh)was the prophet of muslims and their leader, there died a jew.(you know how much hatred is there between muslims and jews!).The prophet walked in his furneal which was mainly for jews.So the other muslims were surprised by that and told Muhammad(pbuh) that isn't he a jew? and were surprised and were like:how come you are walking in his furneal?!...so Muhammad(pbuh)said"Isn't it a human soul?".....he didn't mean here that he prayed for him to go to heaven or things like that no!...but he said that the dead one is a human bieng before he is a jew or of any other belief so he walked in his furneal as a form of respect.
The main problem with the extremists in any religion is that they hate the one of different religion and sometimes kill him 'cause he is of a different belief....i prefer to call these people close-minded,ignorant fools!
So i'll tell you that every human being need to be treated as a human being before all, even though we are of different races and cultures we still have the same red blood colour, right?!
And as for this thing about respecting human biengs that you are starting......count me in!
Peace....!

Yes, I'm in and I have a lot of respect for you for thinking this way.
Christian, buddhist, muslim, hindu, jew or otherwise, we are all cut from the same cloth. it is so hurting to watch and read about all the terrible things people are doing to each other all over the world. everyone is right and everyone is wrong as well. everyone says they have a reason to fight, a cause to defend. I think there are better causes in the world to fight for, if at all. anger is such a terrible thing to have, harbour and nurture.
God bless you and I pray He showers the earth with more like-minded souls.

Let's be very careful, remeber that Jesus said he was the only way to heaven, for christians to say that there are other ways to find peace with God is to bear false testimony. Jesus discarded all other religions as a means of finding salvation and forgiveness of sins. this agrees with scripture "niether is there salvation in any other: for there is no name under heaven, gvien among men, wherby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) There is but one mediator between God and man Jesus Christ.

I do respect people in general and do have a very VERY open mind about EVERYTHING around me (except racist, sexist and comments that put others down) But how can I respect something as the bible when all of it's followers have continually harass me because I do not believe in their faith? I don't see much point in doing so.

Bless you on your intentions, but you are in for a losing battle. Many on here enjoy mocking God and trying to boost confidence in their own belief that God doesnt exist. It that they HOPE God doe not exist so that they do not have to answer for their sinful lifestyle. A forum might be better, but this site certainly is not the place for open discussion, plus in a forum, you can ban idiots.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm in. I don't consider myself a Bible thumper either. I just try to answer questions I think are honest questions, not those that are asked in the spirit of contention. I try to see everyone as the children of God that they and we are. It's nice to see someone else is trying to do that too.

That was a nice sentiment. There's too many people who are persecuted for their religious beliefs. It would be great if we could all just commit ourselves to being tolerant of those who have beliefs different than our own.
