The responses to this question by liongirl40 and EastStar as regards Jehovah's Witnesses are not factual. All one has to do is to compare our beliefs with the ENTIRE Bible to this.
We have a brochure called "Jehovah's Witnesses--Who Are They? What Do They Believe?" One section is a list of some our basic beliefs and where you can find the belief referenced in your copy of the Bible.
Just go to the link below and on the left side of the screen is a short list of links. Go to the third one down called "What Do They Believe?" and start scrolling down and there is the list of beliefs of which I spoke.
The original question was about Mormons of which I do not know a lot, but felt these two points needed to be addressed.

Anything is possible..however because the Mormon religion now has the theological rate somewhere along the same lines as the Amway cult most people find it laughable at most. The numbers have slowed over the last few years...not increased. There has actually been a falling away and conversion from this church due to all the telling of all their nice little secrets, bad publicity and the recurrance of banter in talk show host monologues. I don't know fer sure if this is true or not..is something I read but I could be wrong..the talk show host monologue thing was a joke. Though they are the religion most made fun of by talk show hosts..Leno and Letterman and the like. Good luck with your prophetic predictions...my prediction is that the world won't be here in 10 or 15 years..Love in Christ, ~J~ P.S. if you are truely asking why the LDS Book of Mormon and its religion are at such odds with the typical Christian faith system or Bible based religion its because The Book of Mormon is a bastardized plageristic rendering of fiction based on a few concepts of the Bible.

OK lam, you must believe in prophacy if yo're supposedly making one, although I'm not sure what your point is, it was a bit hard to follow. It will be interesting to see which prophets and their prophecies are correct. It has been interesting to me that people have claimed there are no prophets today, yet go on to predict (and sometimes "prophesy") of the downfall of the LDS church, or whatever else.
To the christians who slam LDS and JW beliefs: Why is it so many of you take the same high and mighty attitude that you accuse the mormons and JWs of having? I don't doubt that people of thise faiths have "bothered" people at home. They are excited about their faith and wish to share it with others. I know it can get a bt agitating, but don't condemn them for it. I have seen many "protastant" denominations do the same type of thing (it is common for them to go door to door in Latin America, just like the above mentioned religions). Catholics do it down there too. As far as condemning others beliefs and practices, why not either a- try and understand and find out what they really believe by (here comes a shocker) asking one of them. If you don't think it is for you, then let those who do want the different religions in their lives live them in peace, or at least without fear of bigotry and mocking. I'll admit, there are examples of other people, LDS, JW etc. being mean and belittling others belief system. This is unfortanute, but a reality on both sides. I am LDS and I live in UT. I have seen just a hint of this from LDS adherents against people of other faiths. I grew up and spent most of my time in WA state. There, it was I and my LDS friends who recieved the slander, to a larger degree than I'd have liked, but we always found a way to bury the hatchet and became good friends. There arose a mutual understanding between us. I hope that we can find that throughout life.

I don't know about the LDS folks being "the" anti-Christ or not. However, they are NOT considered a Bible-based religion or another Christian denomination by most conservative believers.
The Book of Mormon is based on a supposed angelic revelation given to Joseph Smith back in the 1800's. The crux of the "revelation" is that men can become gods of their own planet, with their wives as goddesses, eternally pregnant with the population of that planet, IF ONLY they will be good Mormons. Jesus Christ was "a" son of God, not "the" Son of God, and Satan is actually his second-youngest brother.
The whole thing, including their deliberately-reworked "Bible", is really just washed-over Gnosticism, a heresy denounced by Christian leaders many centuries ago. As long as Christian parents properly ground their kids in the truths of the faith, they need not worry about the "lure" of Mormonism.

It is a sad thing that the mormon religion has decieved so many people. THey make it seem like the christian religion and then when you have been indoctrinated long enought they hand down the things that would be and are an abomination to the Lord. I know I tried it once. They support having more than one wife with another book that says God is in heaven with a wife making baby spirits. That of course would have made God an adulter when He overshadowed Mary. Not happening when He talks against that. I don't know about anti-christ that is someone who comes out of the mediteranian area. A decieving religion for sure. I was not allowed to keep that book that I was given way too soon as the missionaries would not stay off of my doorstep and w then somew elders would not leave me alone until I returned it. I agreed that they would then completely leave me alone. It is sad.

Because the Mormon religion is not Biblical. Its a made up religion by a guy named Smith in 1800's North America. He even wrote a whole new Bible to go with it. The Book of Mormon.
So, since its not based on the Bible would explain why no "commonality".

The Mormon religion shares the same commonality as the other Bible based religions. That commonality is that Jesus came to Earth and taught us the Gospel and died for us.
Please get your facts straight before you make assumptions.

Anything is possible but if you have studied the Book of Mormon you would have seen that they have taken out of the Bible what they want and twisted it to suit there faith you will find that of the Jehovah Witness as well.

So you ask a question on why the mormon's don't share commonality with other bible followers, yet you bash them at the same time, that's real nice >.<
