Why are they always setting up internet spyware to track down where your kid goes, why do they always make sure who the child is friends with, why do they always check what books you read and who you go out with and where you have been. Why dont they just mind their own business?

Because you are a child. You are their responsibility.

Obviously you are too much of a child and not mature enough to handle the situations you wrote about, or you wouldn't be asking.

You should be thankful your parents care enough about you that they don't want anything bad to happen to you. You are young, naive, and your brain has not fully developed yet, so you are lacking fundamental adult-world skills, such as reasoning and decision-making.

Once you are over 18, you can do what you want as long as you aren't living under their roof. Until then, get used to it.

Parents are bored with their own lives and feel the need to interfere with their child's.

There is also the possibility that they are insecure about their own parenting skills and feel that because of their incompetence that you will make poor decisions. As an after thought, to prevent people from accusing them of being bad parents, they have decided to spy on you to be sure that you are making proper decisions and intercept any attempt you make at rebelling.

Lastly, they could be brain washed by the media and news which tells them that their child is a victim of Internet predators, which I have yet to see possible. How can someone on the Internet be a predator unless the kid is stupid enough to meet with them? If your parents are victims of the media they suffer both from insecurities in their parenting, a rude sense of not believing you are smart enough to avoid idiotic situations, and they may be over protective and caring.

My parents, after I was grown and wed, admitted to the first two options I have given. I am now a parent and think I will go with the first, spy on my child because I am bored. He's 2 now, so we have a while yet.

First of all, I don't think parents set up spyware to spy on you, Cos spyware can severely f*ck up your computer, second of all they spy on you, cos they care about you, they check who you are Friends with, cos they don't want you to have bad friends to influence you in the wrong direction in life. The same goes with boyfriends and girlfriends, they care about you and love you and don't want to see you getting hurt. Imagine if you're parents didn't care for you. If they didn't, you could have been raped or abducted by a pedophiles by now. You could have been exposed to the filthiest pieces of garbage on the Internet. Consider yourself lucky your parents are there for you to look after you and love you. It's in the job description for parents to be nosy
Also you might want to consider you're self lucky you're in current situation.

This is coming from me, a 16 year old guy who has NEVER been let out to go with his friends. I am pissed off with that decision that my parents don't give that freedom. But I am also lucky to have parents that care for me. I am happy that I am not some punk kid going around stealing sh!t and bullying other little kids.
So please think about all this next time you judge you parents.

And also, if your parents are over protective, talk to them - they won't bite. Just tell them you need some space.

They stupidly assume that its the only way to know about their kids and the only way to protect them yet most of the time the kids who get into the trouble from the Internet are the well protected kids. Over protection is not needed. I have 3 kids I never see myself having to overprotect them from the world. If a child does not see the things in the world they may go crazy trying everything when they do get into the world.

we always feel like they are wrong at their point .actually they are but upto a certain extent they are right also if we think practically. best part is to do ur bussiness they dont like when they are not at home . just make them feel that u r happy wid them if u feel that they will not understand u if u discuss all this wid them but if u feel that they can get ur point then discuss the whole stuff wid them and make them feel u'll never let them down. Just try to think less abt it or else they'll be havin doubts on u more if u behave weirdelly. let their spying bussiness follow u . just feel that they are concerned.

It's certainly not because they have nothing better to do. I guess it's because they feel responsible for you since they brought you into this world. While you're questioning the things your parents do, how about finding out why they feed, clothe and shelter you.
I'll bet when you are able to do those things for yourself, your parents won't be minding your business so much.

If they let you go without any kind of supervision, you could turn out to be a juvenile delinquent, and later down the road a hardened criminal. They love you and are doing it for your own good. You can't see this now, but you will thank them one day, when you do understand.

Cause the kids whose parents don't do those things wind up on drugs, date-raped, getting arrested, or any number of other horrible things teenagers get themselves into. It's the nosey parents who wind up raising kids who turn out to be healthy, smart, responsible, and productive adults.
