Maybe you have a sleep disorder. They put me on Provigil for that but I don't really like to take it very often if I can help it. Sometimes I will exercise when I get a break. Maybe just a few jumping jacks or a short but vigorous walk. Anything that will get that blood flowing. Good Luck!

Dessicated liver pills (available in most health food stores) in large quantities such as ten at a time. Zero toxicity, no jitters, no side effects that I've ever experienced except that if you continue it for too long you'll find yourself dancing the sleep deprivation tango.

Try not to sit down for long periods of time, especially if you have nothing to do. I have a job where I have nothing to do most parts of the day and I end up really tired by the end of the day, keep moving. If you have nothing to do then try and find something to keep your mind busy and stay on your feet.

Cold shower and drink Red Bull.
Or ask your friend to shock you (by a sudden scream or whatever). Then you'll forget that you were sleepy (It worked for me :p)
PS. Not recommended when you've a weak heart, or you'd get a heart attack.

Exercise before work to get adrenaline pumping, cold temperature where you are working keep you alert and uncomfortable chair keeps you from getting to relaxed and snoozing (Very good for people who are seated for long periods of times!).

If it is possible, get a good night's sleep the night before. There is a variety of herbal and prescription remedies to help with this.

everytime you sense sleepy, take a stroll to the washroom and wash your face. The actual interest helps keep you wakeful. It received't help in case you sit down continuously for a lengthy time period.
