What is the spookiest thing that ever happened to you?

I saw a black shape run past a glass door and when I went into the room there was nothing there.

When I was 9, I remember coming home from a friends house at about 8 o'clock at night. It was winter time with no snow on the ground. The street I walked home on was always dark and you could hear owl's in the distance. A car that was abandoned was obvisously alway parked on this road. I walked past it for the last 6 or 7 monthes and never really realized it. Well this very night I looked into the window and saw something that scared the crap out of me. I saw a little girl banging on the window. She was dressed in all white and had a look of desperation to her. There was no sound coming from the car and it wasn't running. Even as she was banging on the window for me to let her out, I never heard any sound at all. Just silence. The owl's were gone and so was I. I ran as fast as I could home. That was the spookiest thing that has ever happened to me.

I've given up on being spooked with my husband around. He is definitely psychic. He'll talk about a 30 year old song, and 5 minutes later it will come on the radio. Not long ago he was free associating, and thought about the TV show Frazier. Then he wondered what ever happened to the Jack Russell terrior on the show. The next day, it came on Headline News that the dog had died.

I've had quite a few spooky encounters, but this one still gives me the shivers: I used to work in a childcare setting and most of the kids(ages 2-4) used to go to sleep for an hour after lunch, except for a handful that didn't. Anyway, I was sitting with my back to the glass doors which led out into the garden. One of the kids kept starring past me, and finally I asked what he was looking at. He said 'Oh, it's just that man again.' I asked him what man, and he replied 'The one with the bump on his head!'. I turned around, but could not see anyone. When I said that I could not see that man, the boy said 'He's right behind you!'. Anyway, I thought the boy was messing about, but then some of the other children said they could see him, too. One by one, the children started waking up, and we( my colleagues & I) asked each one of them if they had noticed a man in the garden, and they all said they had, and described him exactly the same ( big, blond, bump on his head...). One of the girls said that he was standing next to her when she was on the rocking horse. I asked her if he'd ever said anything to her, to which she replied 'He sang a song' , 'Which song?' i asked, and she leant towards me and whispered ' Horsey, horsey, don't you stop....' It was soooo creepy!

I saw a woman go into a restroom and never come out. After several minutes, my sister and I went to check on her. It was a one room deal with just a sink and toilet. No other doors, no windows. We didn't miss her exit, either, because our table in the restaurant was practically right up against the restroom door. She was just gone.

In central France, camping overnight, late 1980s, I heard and saw a ghost battle: screams ,gunfire, flashing light, military commands being shouted, rumbling of lorries/tanks etc. 200 yards away. In the morning nothing. Absolutely nothing. Local legend: quite common event. WW2. Very spooky.

14 years of psychic abilities, descending into psychosis & schizophrenia from age 7 (when a relative went to a clairvoyant for healing for me) to age 21 (when I was exorcised & received The Holy Spirit).

I once owned a Victorian fantasy Manor house. In one of the bedrooms there was always something happening,footsteps when I was alone things being moved, hand prints on an old mirror, one of my neighbors who was descendant from the original owners family told me that a woman named Scarlet died in that room back in the 1800s .

just recently i saw a black non see through rugby ball shaped thing about 6 inces from the floor, just slowly floated from my living room into the kitchen.
I thought i had a black spot in my eye!
But i noticed my cat following it keeping her distance with her back legs crouched.
if it was not for my cat seeing it too, then i would have not believed what i saw!
I still dont know now what it was, very spooky.

I was had a hallucination when I was seven I was told a scary story about a witch. I saw and heard a witch by my window my mom and dad ran into the room and the image disappeared.

It really freaked me out I can laugh about it now lol.

Years after I'd left school I had a dream about a guy who had been in my class - I hadn't seen him since we'd left school. The following evening I was walking back from the pub with a couple of my girlfriends telling them about the dream (they knew him from school also) when a car pulled up alongside us and asked if we knew where the nearest 24hr petrol station was. You guessed it ... the car was being driven by the guy in my dream. We were all so shocked none of us could answer him! He probably ran out of petrol, poor soul!
