Walk down to a lovely classical piece, like Pachabels Canon in D Major or Air on a G String, my pastors wife walked down to Arrival of the Queen of Sheba. The wedding march is awful, it reminds everyone of a cheap n tacky wedding and ones you used to play growing up.

Modern day songs like Shania Twain are just tacky - its all about class! Although I really wanted to walk down the aisle to This I Swear by Nick Lachey but my boyfriend said 'absolutely not, its tacky!'

Good luck!

I favor the traditional Wedding March. I think it's beautiful! Remember that it's "Bridal March from Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner. That's the one you hummed when you used to pretend.

The recessional song is a completely different song, " Wedding March from a Mid Summer's Niight Dream" by Felix Mendelssohn.

I was on a wedding board and some of the girls there expressed hatred for the wedding march. Cannon in D seems to becoming quite popular. My D-inlaw walked in to it. My son chose the recessional song, a guitar solo (as he's a professional guitarist) Tumeni Notes by Steve Morse.

Here's a good place to go & listen.

Well, for my wedding, I am walking down the aisle to K. Ci and JoJo's "This Very Moment". There are plenty of good songs, "From This Moment" by Shania Twain, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston.

"The Highland Cathedral" A beautiful haunting piece, especially when done by a violin and french horn combination.
