1 life = 1 life

Humanitarian support through military intervention is as much of a paradox as George Bush caring about a poor third-world nation. The action raises this ethical question: is the act of saving Somali lives worth the loss of American lives? Historically our armed forces have served only to protect the freedom of democracy and maintain national security. Humanitarianism falls into neither of those categories. The problem lies in the reality that the United States has no vested interest in the outcome of a civil war in Somalia. It does not affect us economically, politically, socially, it does not affect our allies, the integrity of trade agreements, and it had no bearing on national security or foreign policy. The truth is that conflict in Somalia should not have even made its way onto the Whitehouse agenda because it does not affect us at all. Equally important as the fact that American men and women died to bring food to Somalis, is the ethics from the standpoint of the Somalis.

needless to say, he is wrong. totally wrong. every life is worth the same, and that is priceless!! nothing makes one life worth more than another. Jesus died for all men regrdless of race, creed, or sins committed.
remember the parable of the scribe who stood at the front of the synagogue and man who stood at the back? well this is the same.the scribe thought he was better than the sinner just as the soldier thinks a US life is worth more then 10000 Somalian lifes. he was judging by mans standards and not by God's. and as God says that we are all his children therfore he loves us all equally as we are all equal in the eyes of God.

You expect a US soldier to be intelligent? How intelligent do you need to be to put yourself in a situation where you could stop a bullet because such an intelligent person as G W Bush says you should do so?

I'm behind G W Bush on this one- stay at home, it makes more sense, but if bullets are gonna fly, I'm still staying behind G W Bush (or in front of him as he'll probably be doing his best to run away from the direction of flying lead).

Of course not, all human lifes are worth equal, and he should get kicked out of army for that statement, cause he makes it look like all soldiers are stupid chauvinist ignorants.
