oh well, this same old question again.
Here is a different answer for you this time. ;)
Since you don't like your son to be barefoot or anything like that, I think it might work if you wrap him up completely in plastic food wrap (Saran Wrap). Just cut some holes so he can see, hear, breath, speak, and eat. Use two or three rolls of the stuff to make sure he is completely covered up. Then, you really shouldn't have anything to worry about.
yes, this answer is quite flippant. oh well.

I went barefoot my entire childhood. I have the toughest feet in the world! I also always had a stubbed toe or a bee sting to contend with! My children were always made to wear shoes! I feel they were better off than I was! Send him in some kind of shoes.

Yes I would at least send him in a pair of cheap flips flops. There was a little boy locally who went out in his driveway barefoot & within seconds had 3rd degree burns on his feet.

You should have him wear something on his feet. Flip flops or some swim shoes. If there is broken glass between your place and the pool he is going to, he could cut his foot. Not to mention if someone breaks a glass at the party.

i wouldn,t let any of my kids go barefoot anywhere , around pools there is alot of bacteria and if he isn,t wearing shoes he could pick up warts or get cut or slivers or anything ! be safe, make him wear shoes or sandles

If the host is more than just a few houses away, then yes. You never know what could be laying on the street waiting for him to step on.

You can answer this yourself just think about what is safe for your son. Bare feet can get cut or the surface he walks on could be hot. Now what do you think you should do?
