There are not children from the marriage. They only lived together 8 months before he moved out. Now he's finally filing for divorce, but still wants to talk to her. He says he wants to be her friend. Even though they have little in common, and they lived more that 200 miles apart. What is the point?

She does not want to have contact with him after the divorce, but he's still trying to convince her other wise. She's stressed out, not sleeping, not eating, losing hair b/c of him. I don't know what else to tell her. She still talks to him b/c she loves him and doesn't want the divorce. But he's still filing. I just see what he is doing to her, and can't figure out why he continues to do it.

it could be that since the divorce is already painful enough, he doesn't want to say oh by the way stay out of my life. you know how people say things like oh call me! and never call? or lets do this again sometime but it never happens? (like that episode of friends where chandler is dating rachel's boss and he kept saying "lets do this again sometime but he didn't really want to). it's just something some people say b/c they don't know what else to say in a wierd or akward situation.

At some point they did love one another. Those feelings are hard to shake. If neither person has a problem with it then, why not stay friends? If it brings pain to her to talk to him then she should cut him out completely.

You should get out of this relationship with this man asap. He is still in love with her. Even if he says he's not, it won't be good for you. His talking to her will drive you insane. He won't be a good husband to you cos he can't sever ties with her completely which he should.

It is because you are two mature adults I hope.
You have realised it wont work between you and moved on. There is no need for animosity.

he still likes her still have little care about her. It is normal, he cant forget her completely, maybe in their relationship, they used to be SOOOOOOOO DAMN loved each other, but then, it is hard to forget that why he still cares about her.
other posibilities are hmm, it is like they still care to each other but they cant be together because of the old pains and too much differences between them. or maybe the guy wants to see what she is doing without him, to see that who is faster to move on and have better life without being together. like me, i loved my x so much, even he cheated on me, i still care about him, his health and his education, still wondering if he is ok without me blabla.. ^^
