Sachin Tebdulkar is the best. He is a fine batsman with higest test centuries. Further, he is a useful bowler also.
Debut:

First One Day International:
India v Pakistan at Gujranwala, 2nd ODI, 1989/90
Even though, Sourav Ganguly, is a good batsman and bowler, he is not of the standard of Sachin.

It is little difficult to comare them.You see India have three Super S'. They are Sachin, Saurav, Sewag without which the team is incomplete .
Sachin-The master blaster hit 74 centuries including test and one- dayers.He has many records. highest centuries in both test and one-dayers. Highest record for getting Man-of-the-Match award.And many more records in his name.You see he is even a good bowler.with 179 test and one-dayers wickets.He is even a good fielder.
Ganguly-The best captain India ever had. Second best after Ricky Ponting(Austrilian Captian) when Ganguly was Indian captain.The captain who gave India the most number of victories.The man who even scored more than 10,000 runs in one-dayers.He is the man who has taken the most number of wickets by a Indian bowler against Pakistan.
So my answer is Sachin.

see INDIAN Team has 3 Super 'S' named Sachin Sourav Sehwag without which the team looks incomplete. All the 3 S have their own perfect stages,
Sachin---Tons of Record holder an outstanding Batsman Ever Come in the World...top 100's top 50's in ODI's top 100's in Test.....etc c ....its long Biography ....in one word ......OUTSTANDING.
Sourav---Most succesfull Captain Till now India have Got and the Second Succesful Captain of the Worl as comes after Ricky Ponting....also the only Left handed SUCESSFULL Batsman and Captain of the Team.
Sehwag---The Game Compiler and Initiator who have played amazing Innings with the above two heroes Sachin and Saourav.......above all have a Shadow of Sachin in every Shots, Cuts and Drives.
one can't Differentiate them as is a team of Super heroes.....the unbeatable "THE THREE 'S' OF INDIAN TEAM"

Sachin Tendulkar _ all time good player, not a successful captain
Sourav Ganguly _ Good player till he comes to the captain post, Successful Captain
Sachin is leading oneday scorer, But ganguly makes his 10000 runs in just 9 years
Sachin is good player ...Not compare to ganguly (He is special in his Off side) But poor captain, Could not able to coordinate the team members
So, my choice is Sourav Ganguly

sachin is the better batsem but not a good captain cant take the presssure oof captaincy. Ganguly is the best captain ever, made the best descions a very good batter but not as much as sachin

Sachin.
Simply he likes to play his shots, I you can see the difference yourself, bang a short one to both and see who dos what?
~Sachin hooking the ball or ducking under it.
~Sourav playing a half shot and directing the ball towards sky for an easy catch.
Its just one aspect.
