That's a myth--the person probably won't drop over dead if you wake him/her up. (LOL I said "probably".) More to the point, it's generally not necessary to wake the person up. A sleepwalker is usually pretty suggestible, and can be led back to bed. If he or she gets aggressive during sleepwalking, then lead the person by all means. Off a cliff.

I just learned about this in psych class. It is a myth that you should not wake a sleepwalker. Just be careful when you do so that you make sure that you are supporting them and can help them back to someplace safe though when you do it.

ITis not that you should not wake them its how you wake them, the medical opinion is that shock,can ensue leading to respitory problems ,heart attacks,etc.

It's ok to wake them up, just don't do it while they're "walking on the roof"
