Petrochemicals are far more valuable than the gasoline you put in your car. Plastics, pharmaceutical drugs, synthetic fibers, etc. all come from crude oil and natural gas. In fact, only about 50% of a 42 gallon barrel of crude oil actually becomes fuel.

yep. it almost always does...
even paper is treated with petroleum based products... you have it everywhere. most af the colorants are petroleum based and even though some people are trying to get back to floral and herbal based colorants, petroleum based colorants are still cheaper. So that's one of the things you can have in your food that comes from petrol.
but for food it's almost always a small quantity of petrol, and most of the time you don't need a lot to do what you need to do, you still need it almost everywhere. but still.
also, plastic is 100% petroleum.

Yes,
There is an adage "if you can hold it in your hand's it's mined from the earth or farmed" The computers we use daily contain minerals that have been mined, from Gold, Silver, Tantelum, plastics are all derived from petroleum distillates. chemicals in shampoos and soaps are often derived from chemical distillates that original was Texas tea or Brent Light.
