I am going to be a bridesmaid in a friends wedding in a week or so. The shoes she got us are very uncomfortable, would it be okay to go barefoot at the reception after the wedding? I've been to a few weddings, and usually you see alot of the girls barefoot and their feet are dirty from the floors. I don't mind going barefoot. Should I just wait until the wedding to see if any other girls are barefoot?

nope it's alright. you can just let the bride know in case she may have some reservations about it.
i've seen cases like that before too; i don't think it's weird or anything. if the couple gives the okay, everything's fine with the rest of us.

ask the bride if it is all right with her. if she says it is fine- then go ahead. but, i would suggest bringing a more comfortable pair of shoes to the reception. as other people have said, barefoot at the wedding does seem tacky.

You can go barefoot if you wanted to, but I would take a pair of socks because you could get more than dirty feet.

Double do it .. be barefoot & pregnant at the wedding ..
(just teasing)

a hint ... bring a little pair of plain chinese slippers with you. They are much classier than bare feet at a dance and very comefortable. (color them to match the dress if you can)

Im not very hip on that i think [no offense] its kinda trashy...if all the other girls are wearing shoes then its not a good idea just wear the shoes the more you wear them the more the feel good!

I think that is SO tacky. Why don't you take more comfortable shoes for the reception at least. I have seen girls take their shoes off---and I think they have no class!

The reception said "no shoes-no shirt-no service"...or was that the restaurant ?
