Yes, it does matter. It's not as easy a question as some simplistic minds would have everyone believe.
There are times when the fetus is simply never going to be a viable lifeform, such as the case of Baby Jessica. This fetus was found to have no brain or cerebral cortex at all, inutero. The Born Again Christian parents actually, and rediculously not only continued the pregnancy but then had the audacity to believe that somehow this sack of organs would somehow be a child!
They refused to allow the hospital to discontinue life support (talk about your oxymorons here) because they believed that with prayer that somehow it would survive.
This sack of organs remained on life support until the organs began to shut down. Insted of removing the life support and harvsting the organs, which could have saved the lives of the LIVING, the couple buried it and gave it a NAME!
After watching this story unfold. how can anyone be against abortion? That's the real question!

Adoption. Abortion is just as bad as murdering someone. Why would adoption be less humane solution? There are good people who adopt children and take good care of them---it's not always mean people who adopt. I personally know several people who have adopted children because they could not have children and they are wonderful parents. Actually they love the children and take better care of them than some birth parents do to their own children. I think its better to put a child up for adoption and give them a better life with a family who can provide for them and love them than to kill a child(an abortion is killing a child)

The idea that there are always families looking for a baby to adopt is way overblown. People should be more responsible in their sexual activity if they want to avoid unwanted offspring. I know some people who should have never become parents. This is a touchy subject for a lot of people...would you have liked it if your parents had aborted you/I would have never known the difference. Abortion must remain a legal option to protect the mother from such things as incest, rape and medical emergencies. I am pro-choice, and I am absolutely NOT religious, but I think that using abortion as a form of retroactive birth control is irresponsible in the extreme. The morning-after pill? Sure! That's fine, perfect even. But digging out a fetus halfway into the pregnancy without a medical issue is irresponsible. Not immoral, but irresponsible.
On the other side of the coin, we should allow our terminally ill citizens to decide for themselves when enough is enough. I have seen DNR's dismissed because of a distraught family member who doesn't care enough about the person inside the shell to just let them go with peace and dignity...they are clinging to what the person represents to them, not the person themselves.

I'd go for adoption. I'd rather keep the child, of course, but if there was really no way I could afford to have a baby and ended up pregnant I'd go through the pregnancy and give him or her up for adoption. The only time I would undergo an abortion is for a medical reason where one or both of us would normally not survive should the pregnancy continue.

I don't really know... I think abortion is a painful process for the woman. If you look at the pictures of abortion and stuff.. it's heart breaking and an eye sore.
In my opinion.. I think giving up for adoption would be the best decision. You are bringing a new life into the world and... in the end, will probably end up in a nice, caring, and loving family.

I think it would depend on the circumstances of the pregnancy. Rape, molestation or even incest would be a justification enough for an abortion. I think it has also to do with the person individually. I for one would never have an abortion but that isn't to say that if there were unfortunate circumstances to me becoming pregnant, I could not say for certain what i would do.
Should the pregnancy be due to failure of some form of birth control, take responsibility for your actions and if you can not, adoption is an option.
It has to be thought of on many angles. I am against abortion and all for adoption. That is just me though.

Adoption, of course. Killing an innocent human being should never be an option. See:

Abortion is a cruel way of covering up your "mistake". A baby is never a mistake, even if the parents are idiots.. there are thousands of people on waiting lists that want to adopt a baby. Adoption isn't cheap, if someone is patient and willing to adopt, they can most likely provide a good life for the baby. Abortion is painful for the baby, and irresponsible of the mother.
