How can I intercept messages received in MSN messenger (7 or above) using visual basic?

Question

What I want to do is trigger some VB application code when a new message is received by MSN Messenger and be able to access the message text - that's it!

I believe this is (or at least was) possible with Windows Messenger 4.? but is no longer so simple with current versions of MSN Messenger?

Any help would be most appreciated.
