Oh man, please try to buy a basic understanding of astronomy watch some PBS specials or something...
The earth has one moon. On august 27 2003 (and several weeks before and after), mars was close enough to earth so that if you looked at it through a telescope, it appeared as bright and as large as the moon. So yeah, this means that your email has been circulating for 3 years, and people have been editing it and changing stuff.
Sorry for smashing your dreams, is it worth 10 points?

are you kidding!?!?
To the rest of you...
In the "galaxy" there are countless moons.
Orbiting the Earth there is only one moon.
Mars has a couple, and many other planets in our own solar system have SEVERAL moons each. Our solar system is just one of BILLIONS just in our galaxy alone, not to mention the entire universe.
Mars will not look as big as our own moon does to us to the naked eye ever. If it ever got that close we would all be in BIG trouble.
A "blue moon" is when there are two full moons in one month, the next one is in June of 2007 and the last one was in July 2004 (I believe)
Hope this helps to answer these questions.

Maybe you mean two moons in the same 24 hr period. Visible in the early morning and then again after sunset. It might be true perhaps in the southern hemisphere.

Well, in the galaxy there is technically only one moon, so I would imagine there will only be one moon on Aug. 27 and if you plan on smoking something that will make another moon appear, please be sharing it ;)
