you could go to your local fancy dress store, hire a fluffy animal costume, preferably not a cat or a dog, go immediately home, put on the costume, cover yourself in syrup then roll around for a bit on a recently crushed nuts and seeds pile and proceed around your home on your hands and knees. little creatures like familiarity, he will trust you, especially if you smell like wee and poo, he will come to you, but never turn your back on him, its mating season.

There's this trick you can do with a bucket that supposedly works but I've never tried it (though my sister did and she caught a wild mouse with it). Get a large plastic bucket, put food in it (and possibly bedding to soften the hamster's landing), then make something like a ramp up to the rim of the bucket, possibly putting food on the ramp like a little trail. The hamster will get to the rim of the bucket and smell the food in the bottom, and when he tries to get down there, he'll fall in and won't be able to get out. When my sister caught the mouse, she had the bucket tilted at an angle so the little guy would end up sliding in, and that might work better and be more tempting to the hamster.
While you try to catch him, you should put a bowl of water on the floor for him to drink so he doesn't die of thirst before you recapture him. I know other ways to recapture rodents, but since your mobility is restricted, they wouldn't do you much good. Hope you catch him.

look behind the fridge, they are often there - dont move it though because u could squish him. also check the stove. have some broccoli or other fresh food with u to lure him in case he's there. put a bucket out with books or something leading up to it so he can crawl to the edge. make a trail of food on the books, just a tiny bit, leading up the books and then put broccoli (no water) in the bottom of the bucket he'll fall in and be trapped and waiting for u. a small trash can or anything not too tall with smooth sides works. since u r home u can try putting his cage on the floor open and he may sneak in for food and u can catch him. if u see him but cant grab him u might put a trash can or something like that in front of him so he'll run in it or his ball if u have one. (how i catch spiders!) he'll come out at night hungry if u dont find him today.

A similar thing happened to me, so I put the cage on the floor with the wee ladder up to the door and went to bed. By the morning the hamster was tucked up in his own bed. Job done!

I don't know whether this works or not but I have heard that if you put some food in a box and make a little staircase up to it with books or something, the greedy hamster will end up falling in sooner or later.

Oh no...well, it will probably be ok until she gets back if you don't find him. Maybe you could have a neighbor come over in the evening, after dark to help you catch the little nocturnal bugger. You'll have to listen for him and follow the poop trail.

drop rat "poison" on the floor. hopefully he hamster will mistake this for food pellets and eat one. He'll be so full that he'll just lay there with his little eyes closed (or opened and glazed over, whatever) hurry, before he wakes up grab a broom and a shovel and awkwardly try effortlessly to pick him up. later, when your fiancee comes home throw the lifeless remains of your once oh-so-animated pet and yell "look what you made do"

Peanut butter, cheese, apple, p.c.. a take care of that has an particularly tremendous scent and placed it in her cage and set the cage by ability of the hollow contained in the settee. She'll pop out to devour it and its in her cage so she'll sense probability-free sufficient to sit down and munch and also you'll close the cage
