a) The elements, found in air in small traces, in gaseous state, which do not react chemically with any other element are called noble gases.

b) As these elements are found only in air in small traces, they are sometimes called rare gases.

c) Helium (He)
Neon (Ne)
Argon (Ar)
Krypton (Kr)

Noble gases are the lord of all gases hehehe... no seriously. They are called noble gases because they are pretty stable.Meaning they follow the octet rule and so they don't need any electrons from the other elements. They aren't really rare. The other elements just want to be like thenoble gases, stable with a full set of 8 electrons. The noble gases can be compared to the rich people because they don't care about the poor elements hehehe. See it's in my own words. The noble gases belong to the 8th group or family. The noble gases are Helium (He), Neon (Ne), Argon (Ar), Krypton (Kr), Xenon (Xe), and Radion (Rn).

carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur species discussed above, a suite of noble gases, with mixing ratios ranging from almost 1 percent in the case of argon to about 1 ppb for xenon. There are two components to the Earth's noble gas inventory. Some of the noble gases are primitive in the sense that the corresponding elements were captured from the solar nebula when the Earth formed some 4,500,000,000 years ago. Others, notably helium-4 and argon-40, are of more recent origin, produced by the radioactive decay of such elements as uranium, thorium, and potassium in the Earth's crust and mantle. Noble gases are released from the interior of the planet at ocean-spreading centres (i.e., the mid-oceanic ridges) when new crust is formed, as well as from volcanoes and hot springs. With the exception of helium, which escapes, the noble gases are inert and accumulate in the atmosphere. Studies of the elemental and isotopic composition of the atmospheric gases, in combination with analogous data for meteorites and other planets, provide valuable clues to the origin and early history of the Earth.

Noble gases such as helium and Radon I think there are 4 or 6 noble gases but I'm not sure. Anyway noble gases generally will not react to other elements on the periodic table they are gases that are stable.

List the Noble gases for you? Not a chance in the world!
Get off your butt... well, since you ARE sitting at the computer you can't literally do that, but.......... either read your stupid text book or do an internet search and actually learn this stuff for yourself!!! I cannot believe it when people will actually give kids the information they want! Quit being a lazy crud and do the work!

LOL. Is this what the world is like now? People are so dumb that now Internet answers aren't good enough. They need it in layman's terms? Sad. Just sad.
