Read "Man's search for meaning" by Viktor Frankl.
The premise of the book is if a man has a reason to live ot meaning to his life he can withstand anything. It's inspirational and gives a very good way to look at life- the author survived a Nazi concentration camp and used his theory on life to get by.

Atlas shrugged by Ayn Rand This was my bible when I was youger and idealistic about what constitutes success.
It is about never compromising your principles, no matter how much temptation is thrust upon you, never give up your ideals, and one of those ideals should be to make alot of money. Because if you keep your morals and ethics intact, there is nothing better than becoming wealthy because of them. You do have to recognize the responsibility of returning back to earth, or the downtrodden, animals, something, but be proud you make a lot of money and live your ideal life ideally. the people in this book were tested beyond believe to give up what they believed in, or to take the easier way out. Anyone would have crumbled under what they stood up for, but they began to get people to believe in them and then as we lemmings tend to do, the more people that joined them the more we believed in them.

I read a lot and I dont think 1 book can provide guidelines to how one should live life... I think we can learn from every book... usually I try to take in the good things that I learnt from the last book that I read...
the most recent one I read was Marian Keyes' "Last Chance Saloon", i learnt that one shouldnt resist to change due to our own fears -
If you dont change with life, life has ways to change you !!
ask me this question in a month and I'll have hopefully learnt something new from another book !

1. John Seymours 'Complete book of Self Sufficiency'.
2. Means living a good wholesome life, doing (& making) good wholesome things; therefore giving satisfaction as opposed to the normal and numerous frustrations in life.
3. Growing, harvesting, hatching, baking, stitching, bartering; making own good food - without chemicals. If you make it, you know what's gone into it. No 'E' numbers!

I would follow the morals and rules instilled into me by my parents. There is no book written that has my rules in, but my morals and rules are very high, and I'm an honourable gentleman.
