its not sweat really its a mucus to help keep their skin moist like suntan lotion because in the hot sun they dry up and their skin gets deep cracks, this is also why they're in the water a lot

Actually, as far as i know, only human and equines have sweat glands to cool their bodies. the rest have to find some other way like respirating thru their mouths as canines do. Other secretions do have different colors and tastes. I have heard that the elephants secretion from the head is the worst thing one can taste.
