When a processor is a dual core does it mean that, if it says Operating Frequency: 2.4GHz the total Operating Frequency is 4.8GHz or it is still 2.4?

It's still 2.4 but it can process two sets of instructions simultaneously

Dual core means there are two processors in one chip. Still every calculation cycle is done in 2.4 Ghz but in each cycle 2 calculations are made. So although the speed is the same we get double the work done.

frequency is still the same however the advvantage of dual core over single core is that it has the capabilities to perform more actions simultaneously with out slowing it down invision a single road and its totally congested with cars then split that road and it allows the cars to move more freely thats how dual core works single cores though do allow for better gaming experiences but are not as great when you are multitasking...

hello, it's 2.4Ghz. because;
cpu work frequance 2.4Ghz.
but, duble chips in the dual core.
it's fast and great performance.
