16. I'm going to be 21 next month and I still don't feel confident. I won't even drive on the freeway. I'm afraid of turning out like that old lady who got on the freeway & couldnt switch lanes to exit the freeway. Her gas ended up running out, and an ambulance had to rescue her. ;(

I was 12 years old the first time I drove solo, got my driver's license at age 15. that was a longgggggggg time ago! 1947!!!
Explanation = In 1947 I lived in a rural area in SE Missouri, very few cars on the road, and I learned to drive on a farm tractor before I ever drove a car. So it was kind of easy to make the transition. I was also the oldest of 6 children in my family, and there was no one else to drive, so I was able to get a driver's license 1 year sooner than the minimum legal age.

Started driving on the farm and surrounding areas at 10. Got License at age 16 and never was nervous about driving.

12. Yes, 12. I started at a very early age, i know. Actually, my family is all stuck to cars man! Can't live without them. Now, I'm 21 and I don't want to boast, but i ain't got a scratch on my car as yet. Zero Accident record although I drive at a good 130+ kmph on highways. Pretty Kool! But it took me a few years to fully realize thr responsibilities associated with Driving. Pretty Long Speech I've given, right??

I was 16 when I started driving... and I didnt feel fully confident driving on both on the streets and highway until I was 25. (I'm 28 now.) Even now... I still wont drive far distances by myself unless I know for sure where I'm going.

i started driving on the road at 16. i have drivin a lot more off road when i was younger. i grew up in australian bush. but i would say a good 3-4 years.
