I'd like a sleek design but dont need any fancy functionlaity, just inetrnet acess and Word.

make a list of your requirement, (RAM, HDD, CPU, GPU etc) then research it on the web. If you approach anyone who is interested in selling you one, they will invariably sell you whats best forthem. Another vote for Sony Vaio. OK they are a bit pricy, but the computers are excellent and the online support is good. You get to join a club called Vaio link if you do have any questions they are very helpful.

Goto Dell they will have the best notebooks and also if you goto their outlet store it will be cheaper than buying a brand new one of them
