When I yawn I can hear my pulse/heartbeat from the back of my throat. Is this normal and why does this happen?

Thanks to all who answer.

It is more likely you can hear the pulse in your neck and yes I can hear mine as well.

I can hear the same thing and it is no way similar to the sensation of a heart beat in my inner ear. It's a faint noise coming from my throat timed exactly with the feeling of my heart beating in my chest. Similar to when(if any of you have seen someone do this) flick their throat with their mouth open to amplify the acoustic of the noise made. Except the noise is my heart beat and much fainter. Almost as if I am taking tiny little breaths that are barely audible unless the room is silent enough to hear. The sound is deffinitely my heart beat not Tinitus. You may have drank to much caffeine, just got done working out, have high blood pressure, or are taking a stimulant. The reason my heart is beating so hard/fasteris a combination of nicotine, poor cardiovascular health, and the high blood pressure caused by a low dose of adderall. I hope this helps. Hopefully it is "Tinitus". The way you described the experience is very similar to how I did so it might not be.

In tinnitus, the sounds a person hears are actually perceptions. Since there's no actual source, they are often referred to as "phantom noises". I read that about 8% of all people in the US suffer from tinnitus so you are not the only one who hears these strange noises.

Tinnitus is actually not a disease. It is actually a symptom of a problem that is rooted deep, somewhere within your body. The problem could be a simple one like an infection in the ear, or even simpler, such as ear wax. Just clear the wax and get the infection treated, and the noises could go away. In some people, it could even be the result of a side-effect of a drug they took. Or it could be more complicated.

If you want to know more about this condition and wnat to learn how to solve naturally your problems with these annoying noises you should read this ebook: http://tinnitus.toptips.org

It helped me a lot.

I have the same thing. It is normal. It is just the pressure created by the yawn. Just like how you can't hear all that clearly right after you yawn and your voice sounds different.
