which story dear?? the one they r showing in discovery this week.. well yes that is just a story.. like they show the stories of the future.. the fact is no one knows wats gonna happen.. we just assume..
regarding the existance of dragons.. yes we do have some living ones.. like the KOMODO DRAGON.. no.. it does not spit fire.. dragon is just a name.. so far there is no evidence of that a fire spitting dragon ever existed.. but u never know.. we could discover somthing like that in the future.. like we did of many species of animals which we thought never could ever exist (like the giant squid, the cilicanth, the mountain gorilla) in ancient times ppl thought these were figments of the human imagination till they were discovered..
(hope i dint bore u with my lecture.. lol)

Yeah Now I can say that dragons were indeed there. Today only I saw at the Discovery channel(India) that the dragon fossil were found. They also discovered that they develop Hydrogen gas while digestion , in their intestines, & have got an additional pair of Lungs storing Hydrogen, Which is 14times lighter that air, helps them fly. Also that hydrogen can be blown at times to blow out fire, which is ignited by two special pairs of teeth in their jaws, which acted like flitstones, igniting the hydrogen exhaled.
All of the Oriental dragons were intimately associated with water. Dragons lived in lakes and rivers and seas, even in raindrops. They controlled the tides, floods and rainfall. If they really existed, then a source that immediately comes to mind is the Chinese alligator, Alligator sinensis. They are not as large as their American cousin, ranging from an average two metres in length to sometimes three metres. But they are dangerous, reptilian and water-based - all good reasons for linking them to the Oriental dragon. But only if you haven’t heard of the predecessors of the real-life Komodo dragon …
Australian monitor lizards all belong to the genus Varanus. They are easily identifiable by their streamlined shape, elongated neck, semi-erect posture, and a forked tongue - which can give the effect of fire-breathing. They all look very similar except for their size differences, which are extreme to say the least. The smallest is the pygmy monitor Varanus brevicauda (20 centimetres long, weighs 8-10 grams). The largest in Australia is the perentie or Varanus giganteus, which can attain a length of two metres.

“Once upon a time there was a man who was a very good expert on dragon.
He studied versions of dragons, their attributes and habits most carefully .
He could skilfully distinguish one kind of dragon from another.
But, unfortunately, for all his ife he never met any dragon. .
And he did not hear, that someone another should see dragon. .
When this scientist came nearer to old age and got tired from studing dragons,
he began to train the young people, that they also understood this major
area of knowledge – dragonology as well.”
/ From the book V.P. Shelist "Splinters" /

The dragon theory was created a long time ago.
The quark theory was recently created.
The dragon is a strange beast.
And the quark is also a strange beast.
Both of them are from one myth.
Only different times gave this myth the different names.

There is a reference in the book of Job in the Bible to a creature that has scales like pot-shards and breathes fire. It doesn't look like a metaphor either. I believe there used to be such creatures but are extinct now. It also refers to something sounding like a dinosaur.
