It would be hard to get pregnant with out some kind of medical intervention. You don't ovulate every month in your late 40's and in your 50's. You are at higher risk for Downs Syndrome and other birth defects. It is difficult to raise a child when you are in your 50's. You generally have less energy. Now on the other hand, if this is a person who is determined to have a child and is willing to take the risks, and still loving raise this child, do it. But do realize, they will loose their mother at an earlier age. Perhaps not, but more than likely. My sister was not able to concieve and has recently been able to adopt. She was very blessed to adopt in the states, a boy at two weeks he's now 4years, and a baby girl age one , just a couple of months ago. My sister is 42 her husband is 53. My sister has little energy to keep up with her kids. Her husband is asked constantly if he is their Grandfather. So there you go!!

well, personally I don't think a woman over 40 should give birth because their are to many risks out there. There are alot of issues whether the baby had down syndrome or anything like that. My mother just had a baby when she was 38, and at 9 months, he might have to go through surgery on his head because his soft spot is closed up. So, I am not trying to tell you whether you should or shouldn't because that is totally up to you. I just wish you luck in whatever you do.

I think it wouldnt be fair to the child..Of course everyone does what makes him/her happy but in this case I think 50 is lil old to give birth.. However I think it would be nice if she adopt a kid maybe, not absolutely newborn but older..This way she will help someone who really needs it and she will be a mother like she wishes to..
Thats just what I think..

NO!!! Even if she is physically able, it would not be fair to the child,(or her, when the reality of caring for the baby sank in). You need to be young and strong to care for a baby - those sleepless nights, 2am feeds etc. And as others have said when she is 65 the child will be 15.... how understanding would she be? able to cope with the teenage years? The age-gap would be too wide.

sure, if she is healthy and strong. go for it.
Be sure there is family member to stand in for the parents if they age too quickly or die.

At 50 a woman might need to take hormones to keep a pregnancy going.

Remember 50 is the new 40.

Hello I am 56

It's on the high on for age to become a mother... but I think it's a personal choice. If the woman is still fertile, healthy & wants the baby, why not?
